TelcoTech Platform Ready For Commercialisation

21 June 2019, Singapore – MyRepublic, the region’s fastest-growing telecommunications and technology company, has appointed a new Chief Operations Officer, Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Officer, and Chief Technology Officer to accelerate development of its TelcoTech platform and ready it for commercialisation.

Eugene Yeo, who was previously MyRepublic’s Chief Information Officer, has been appointed as the company’s Chief Operations Officer. While he was Chief Information Officer, Eugene spearheaded the development of MyRepublic’s own Business and Operational Support Systems (BSS/OSS), which powers the company’s cloud-based TelcoTech platform. This approach, a stark contrast to how typical telecom operators would spend millions of dollars on vendor-built BSS/OSS, proved to be a remarkable investment. The platform’s open-source and cloud-based design enabled MyRepublic to aggressively expand across the region, as well as being able to rapidly deploy new services in a fraction of the usual time and cost.

“The telecommunications industry is rapidly being changed by TelcoTech – technologies that fuel the development of new applications, processes, products, and business models,” says Eugene. “Our platform will help to build the telcos of tomorrow, and provide them with the scalability and agility needed in this new age of telecommunications.”

As Chief Operations Officer, Eugene spearhead MyRepublic’s vision to become the leading digital operator in the world. To support the company’s ambitions, Eugene has brought on board two new members to MyRepublic’s senior management team.

In a first for not just MyRepublic, but the region’s telecommunications industry as well, Jay Shah has been appointed as the company’s Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Officer. David Robinson, a veteran tech leader and the former CTO of STT Connect, has been appointed as the company’s new Chief Technology Officer.

As Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Officer, Jay leads the implementation of AI into MyRepublic’s TelcoTech platform, deploying predictive data analytics and machine learning to achieve real-time behavioural insights. These advancements will greatly elevate the platform’s ability to deliver innovative and customised offerings to consumers and businesses alike.

A serial entrepreneur with a record of innovation in Europe, North America, and Africa, Jay was most recently the founder and CEO of OpenDNA, an artificial intelligence system that built cognitive models to enable deeply personalized experiences for users.

In his role as Chief Technology Officer, David will oversee further convergence between the company’s operational and technological capabilities. David brings with him nearly three decades of experience in virtual infrastructure design and platform integration, as well as managing hyperscale cloud infrastructure. Prior to joining MyRepublic, he held senior roles in companies such as BHP Billiton, Microsoft and STTelemedia Connect.

“We’re very excited that the potential of our platform has attracted leading figures in tech and AI to MyRepublic,” says Malcolm Rodrigues, CEO of MyRepublic. “Their expertise and ideas will be invaluable in our journey to reshape the telecommunications industry. I’m proud to have Eugene, Jay and David champion the next phase of innovation and growth for MyRepublic.”
