Terms and Policies
MyRepublic Geek Insurance is underwritten by HL Assurance Pte Ltd (“HL Assurance”) and distributed by MyRepublic.
1. By submitting this application, I/we agree to these terms as well as the Terms and Conditions of the Insurance Policy issued by HL Assurance (“Policy Wordings”). This application shall form the basis of the contract between MyRepublic, HL Assurance and myself/ourselves, and I/we will accept the terms, exclusions and conditions of the policy to be issued or endorsement incorporated thereon.
2. Consent to Data Collection and Sharing
By submitting this application, I/we accept MyRepublic’s privacy policy and further expressly authorise and consent to MyRepublic collecting, using, and sharing my/our personal data with HL Assurance for the purposes of processing this application, managing the insurance policy, and any related matters.
3. By submitting this application, I/we give my/our consent to MyRepublic and HL Assurance:
– collecting, using, disclosing and/or processing my/our personal data;
– collecting personal data about me/us from sources other than myself/ourselves and using, disclosing and/or processing the same;
– disclosing my/our personal data to the third parties whom MyRepublic and HL Assurance liaise with; and
– transferring my/our personal data out of Singapore to the third parties whom MyRepublic and HL Assurance liaise with, where such third parties are sited (whether in Singapore or outside of Singapore), for the purposes as described in either MyRepublic or HL Assurance’s privacy policies.
4. I/We have read the Policy Document and understand that the insurance provided is subject to exclusions stated in the policy.
5. I/We agree and confirm that:
(a) Our insured property has not suffered any loss, damage or accident, over the last 3 years;
(b) All the information provided in this application are true and correct and that this application and I/we have not withheld any information likely to affect the acceptance of this application;
(c) No material information has been withheld from HL Assurance in making the application.
(d) The application for insurance has been completed wholly by me/us and not by another person.
(e) Understand and agree that no insurance is in force until an application is accepted by HL Assurance and a Policy (as defined in the Policy Wordings) is issued.
6. I/We agree and confirm that:
I/We understand and agree that the insurance policy will only take effect from the activation date as stated in the confirmation email issued by HL Assurance. No claims can be made for any loss, damage, or event occurring before the stated activation date.
7. Cancellation and Policy Continuation
I/We understand and agree that upon cancellation of the policy, the cancellation will take effect from the next renewal date as stated in the policy schedule. Until the renewal date, the policy coverage will remain active, and all terms and conditions will continue to apply.
8. Claims Process and Conditions
- (a) I/We understand and agree that:
- All claims will be made directly through HL Assurance and will be subject to approval on a case-by-case basis, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the policy.
- Claims will only be processed after the successful payment of the applicable bill or premium associated with the policy
(b) Understand and agree that where a third party credit card is used, I/we declare that the cardholder has authorised and consented to its use.
(c) Agree on behalf of myself/ourselves and any person(s), firm or corporation that any information collected or held by HL Assurance (whether contained in this application or otherwise obtained) may be used and disclosed by HL Assurance, its associated individuals / companies or any independent third parties (within or outside Singapore) for any matters relating to the application and any Policy issued.
9. HL Assurance may contact you via a voice call (“Service Call”) to inform you of the Policy’s application and coverage and with consent from you, provide policy and promotional updates through the Service Call.
10. I/We agree to HL Assurance’s Policy On Personal Data (https://www.hlas.com.sg/policyonpersonaldata/), that all personal data provided to HL Assurance or acquired by HL Assurance from the public domain, as well as personal data that arises as a result of the provision of services to me/us will be subject to such policy as may be varied from time to time. Further copies are available upon request or from HL Assurance’s website (www.hlas.com.sg).
11. I/We understand that I/We may write to HL Assurance’s Data Privacy Officer at 11 Keppel Road #11-01 ABI Plaza,Singapore 089057 or call them at +65 6702 0202 to withdraw my consent, for any request for access to and/or correction of any information supplied to HL Assurance.
