nbn™ HFC footprint

Important Information: nbn™ announced that in order to improve the experience of customers who are connected via HFC Technology they would stop accepting orders for new connections in the HFC footprint from the 9th December 2017.

If you have an existing nbn™ HFC connection with another provider,  you can still order a service transfer to MyRepublic, simply  enter your address to see what plan options are available to you.

Once nbn™ has completed their work optimising the HFC network, we will recommence accepting orders for the installation of new  HFC services. This  is expected to be between May and August 2018.

How does the NBN announcement regarding HFC affect you?

There are different scenarios depending on the connection status for HFC:
If you are in a serviceable HFC nbn™ area, you need to place your order with MyRepublic by the 9th of December 2017, if you don’t place your order by this time, you will need to remain on your existing technology until approx August 2018.
If you have a current MyRepublic nbn™ HFC Service, you don’t need to do anything, nbn™ is working in the background to optimise the HFC network.
If you have already submitted your order for an HFC connection, you don’t need to do anything, your order will be completed in due course.
If you are in a non nbn™ HFC area, this announcement does not affect the deployment of your new service.

We get Gaming

Our Gamer Pro Plan provides you access to our network optimised for Gaming, Custom Routing and Static IP. Game On!

Network optimisation

We use our own web traffic priority system to optimise time sensitive applications like video streaming to remain smooth while also remaining flexible for heavy downloading scenarios. To help you experience everything nbn™ has to offer, we provision MyRepublic nbn™ customers on the fastest nbn™ Speed Tier available at their location- up to the nbn™ 100 Speed Tier (nominal access line speed).

The actual speed you will  receive will vary, due to which technology connects your home to the  nbn™ and other factors.

What does ‘Fastest nbn™ Speed’ mean?

nbn™ is delivered over different technology types –  depending on your location and which nbn™ technology connects to your house.  99% of MyRepublic nbn™ customers are provisioned on the nbn™ 100 speed tier*.
*nbn™ speed tiers refer to nominal access line speed (not actual download speeds achievable) and the fastest available speed tier depends on your location.
